It sports a 6.7-inch New Infinity Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. The New Infinity display on the Galaxy A80 comes with no notch or any kind of cut out for the front camera. Under the hood, the device comes powered by the 8nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G Mobile Platform. It is the same Snapdragon 730 Mobile Platform which was recently used in the Redmi K20 smartphone, but the GPU on the Snapdragon 730G is slightly overclocked for better gaming performance.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G is manufactured on Samsung’s 8nm LPP process and comes coupled with Kryo 470 and Adreno 618 GPU. During its official unveiling, the company mentioned the device to pack 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. However, the rumors suggest the device to be made available in more storage option as well. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie-based One UI out of the box. On the front, the device also sports an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Talking about the cameras, the device only with a triple camera setup on the rear. It features a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with f/2.0 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and a ToF 3D depth sensor. The whole camera setup slides to the top and rotates to the front for capturing selfies. With the ToF 3D, the users can also record selfie videos with blur using the ‘Live Focus Video’ mode. It is backed by a 3,700mAh non-removable battery and supports 25W super fast charging. Unlike the flagship Galaxy S10 devices, there is no wireless charging support on this device.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi (2.4GHz & 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port. With the NFC support, the Galaxy A80 supports full-fledged Samsung Pay. While the power button is placed on the right edge, the volume rocker can be found on the opposite side.
